more expensive cameras, artificial illumination or special lenses may be
necessary i.e. for high speed traffic or long range imaging.
Infra Red capable cameras can exclude almost everything from images except
number plates, thus allowing for the highest possible plate reading
accuracy. This is especially
helpful at night or when light and environmental conditions are poor.
